Multi-Modal Issues

Between the annotated blogroll bibliography and the multi-modal essay we are working on now I realize that having pictures, videos, and other forms of media, make or break blogs. I wish that I would have added more forms of media to make my blog more interesting...if only I had realized this weeks ago...
I think that the internet, like most things will come and go with something bigger and better...I wonder what can be bigger and better than the internet now...
Living in a certain time period with new inventions coming by the minute you always wonder what will be the next big thing, how can there be something bigger and better than what we have now?
What new invention that could come out tomorrow, change our world as much as the internet has? Scary to think about...
Scary to think about how small we each are in the greater scheme of the world...do we really make a difference...
Is there really the butterfly effect?

House of...Children

WOW! So I'm just sitting in my dorm room watching CNN and then a new story comes on about the Duggar family. The Duggar's have their own show on TLC called "18 Kids and Counting." Can you even imagine having 18 children...18! I can't even imagine having more than three kids...
Well when the Duggar's came on tv I thought that they were expecting again, but they are not :( Their first son just got married and him and his wife are expecting.
I was really looking forward to the day the show's name has to change to "19 Kids and Counting..." That will be awesome.
At least they are good parents and raise their kids right, but I really wonder how many more kids that they want to have...
All of this makes me think...
-Will I have kids?
-How many?
-Will I have so many that I can get my own reality show? Just kidding...
I wonder where I will be in 10 years...hopefully I don't have a bunch of babies on my hip standing barefoot in my yard.

Number 18 is in her belly!

House of...Love

In my opinion, in our world we all aspire to love and be loved in return. But do we really know what love is or is it too abstract of an emotional to define. We all have definitions of love and most can not explain or tell others about our love. What does true love look like or feel like?
Will we ever see it in our lifetime?

One day I was watching Oprah and a youtube clip played. The audience started crying and everyone was talking about a lion named Christian who loved...
Can an animal truly love?
Can a human truly love?

Deep questions we should all stop and think about...

Signs

We all look, comprehend, and do what signs tell us to do, because we think that the signs are right and tell us something we need. But what if the signs are wrong, confusing, or just make you say duh? Some signs are needed, while others, make us wonder why the tax payers needed to pay for this giant DUH!?!? I understand that signs are the universal symbols to help people and warn, but seriously...Why? Personally I like doing to new places and seeing signs like "Armadillo Crossing" and stuff like that, but the signs below, thou interesting, are not needed, but I hope bring a smile to your face.

Need a good laugh?

This is silly and hilarious and had me laughing out loud for the longest time. I became quite hysterical in fact. Which is just what a girl needs to do from time to time.

Here's what you do:
Just google 'unfortunately, [insert your name]'. When I googled 'unfortunately, Lauren' I got this:

-Unfortunately Lauren missed the recall
-Unfortunately, Lauren will always be grouped with the Hilton/Richie since her fame like theirs was due to her stint in reality tv.
-Unfortunately, Lauren seems to think this failure is just a minor setback
-Unfortunately, Lauren (as was Terri) are not convicted criminals
-Unfortunately, Lauren could not tell us the pain she was having or that her eyesight was deteriorating.
-Unfortunately, Lauren never entered the building. Sorry folks
-Unfortunately, Lauren will not feed
-Unfortunately Lauren’s mother came in one day with her pimp
-Unfortunately Lauren had to leave her work at StirFry when she went to trial
-Unfortunately, Lauren stares eerily at everyone...

Now try it for youself...you won't be disappointed...
Can you tell I was kind of bored today?

I have no idea as to why everything in all of my classes be this week? It's like teachers think that we are rested over spring break and the load has gotten twice as big! I think that all the teachers have a plan to watch all of us fail this week...I really think so...

List of things that I have to do before 3pm on Friday:
-Final Draft (Narrative) ENG 103
-Psych Test PSYSC 277
-History Test HIST 150
-100 pg Family Tree and Paper GEOG 150
-Art Test AHS 100

But hey...look on the bright side...I just got my blog done...

Apples to Apples: A Barrel of Laughs

After a family dinner, while the adults talked in a different room, my cousins and I looked at each other in silence and boredom. Then my hyper cousin Kimberly suggested playing her favorite game Apples to Apples. I had never had of this new game, so I thought that I would suffer through the embarrassment and harassment that my cousins gave me as I struggled through a game that I had no idea how to play. I saw the bright red box and I read the side: “The Game of Hilarious Comparisons!” I wondered how could a game based of making comparisons could be hilarious. I learned the rules and started playing. Within five minutes, if that, I was laughing so hard that I started to cry and get a headache.
Apples to Apples is a new card game by Hasbro. It consists of green and red cards: green cards have an adjective while the red cards have nouns with a description. In order to play the game you need at least 3 people, one of which that is a judge. The judge puts out a green card and the other players must decide which of their seven red cards fit the description the best. Sounds boring? Pretend that you are the judge and you draw a card that says “Loud.” The other players decide that they want to give you cards that say: “Raging Rhinos,” “Golf Ball Sized Hail,” and “Tax Season.” What would you choose? The competition can get pretty intense once people start to be competitive.
I believe that Apples to Apples is one of the best new games out right now. It is an interactive game that requires decision making, critical thinking, and is just plain fun. We as a society need more games like this: a game that is fun and educational.
With math and English scores in American children plummeting, children need a game that is educational and can improve comparison skills. This game can also increase a student’s vocabulary. Between the adjectives and nouns, a student can more readily describe and come up with more academic-rich papers. This game is much more beneficial than games that do not require a skill or any knowledge.
Teachers, parents, and students should suggest this game for their children, in order to have fun and educate themselves. This game is for any age and can come in many versions depending on what age/reading level you are at. Start your kids young in improving their comparative skills and buy the junior edition today or if you want to throw a party go out and buy Apples to Apples: Party Box. You won’t regret it!!
